THANK YOU FROM ARR!

Since our first adoption in September 2012, we have had over 2300 dogs touch our lives and find their forever homes!

We have learned a lot along the way and have had our share of challenges. We have also been joined by many talented and dedicated volunteers - critical people who all have played a part in our success!

Not everyone can volunteer or foster, but many have provided support in other ways. Donations of supplies and money has allowed us to place more animals in homes. And let's not forget the wonderful grant opportunities that allow Animal Rescue Recon and other rescue groups apply for much needed funding throughout the year.

Fabulous partnerships have been formed with Antioch Animal Services and Contra Costa County Animal Control in Martinez.  Relationships have been formed with the wonderful Doctors and Staff at various local vet hospitals. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of Pet Food Express in Antioch, who allow us to showcase our precious dogs at their store a couple Saturday's each month.

It has truly been an adventure and a blessing! The rush of emotions that are experienced upon a successful adoption is incredible, and knowing that so many people have the same goal and are willing to work together to make that perfect match makes us incredibly proud to be a part of the rescue community.

While we are proud of our success, we are humbled in knowing that it takes teamwork to help these animals and there are so many who need our help. We can't save all of them, but we can certainly try with the continued support from people like you.

We look forward to continuing our mission and we are excited about the doors of opportunity that will continue to open for Animal Rescue Recon!

About Us

Animal Rescue Recon, Inc. was established in September 2012 by a group of dedicated, hard-working animal lovers, all with a passion to make a difference and give unwanted dogs a second chance.

Based out of Oakley, CA, Animal Rescue Recon serves East Contra Costa County - an area that has minimal options for homeless or abandoned animals.

Animal Rescue Recon is focused on providing high-quality rescue and adoption services for dogs to East Contra Costa County and surrounding areas. We do everything we can to help give homeless dogs another chance at a long and healthy life in a loving home environment.

Our all-volunteer group has various levels of experience in the field of animal rescue, but all have a heart for helping to find forever homes for our voiceless, furry friends. We have no paid staff - we operate solely on volunteers and services donated by members of the community and local businesses.

Board Members include:

Tamara Reed - President, Co-Founder

Treasure Carlson - Treasurer, Co-Founder

Barbie Hallam - Secretary
